THE LIFE OF A LEADER IS A LIFE OF COMMITMENT. A LIFE OF SERVICE TO OTHERS. A LIFE OF SELF SACRIFICE. A LIFE OF OBEDIENCE, A LIFE TO BE CHRISTLIKE.
This was the pledge of the 2021 Saint Annes Primary School head girl Tatiyana Mow, Deputy head girl Emmalyne Whippy and their fellow prefects when they dawned their badges of leadership at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Suva.
During the induction mass celebration Father Daniel Sinclair had challenged the school leaders to be the true models of christ their when performing their roles as prefects.
Head girl Tatiyana says it was an honor to have been chosen as head girl of Saint Annes Primary School. The year eight student who aspires to be a nurse in the future says her father has been her biggest mentor and role model.
She plans to model her father’s approach in leadership where she will be both a mentor and friend to her fellow students.
Deputy Head girl Emmalyne Whippy says her induction was a proud moment in her family as her mother and most of her aunties had also attended Saint Annes Primary School.
The deputy head girl knows that it will be challenging to manage her time between her role and her studies, but she is eager to prove that she has what it take to be a leader amongst her peers.
Both leaders thanked their teachers for placing their trust in them and are excited to lead their fellow students through 2021.
A total of 54 students were inducted as prefects.
